This is an autoimmune condition where the normal hair follicles are attacked by the body’s immune reaction. This results in hair loss and bald patches. The most prominent symptom is the development of coin-sized bald patches. The underlying skin is usually normal but can be scarred or hyperpigmented sometimes. The hair loss can be sudden and can be developed in a few weeks. This condition can appear in remission or can be continuous.
The Types are
1) Alopecia Totalis.
2) Alopecia Universalis.
3) Traction Alopecia.
HOMEOPATHY AND ALOPECIA ARETA
Homeopathy can offer safe and effective treatment for alopecia. Homeopathic medicines help in correcting the immune response and achieving great control over the disease. CASE STUDY
A 7-year-old female patient, Miss. A. J. (PIN: 40671) visited Life Force Homeopathy on 15th July 2019 for the treatment of her complaint of alopecia areata. She had two big patches of alopecia over the occiput and left temporal region. Also, she had a mild hair fall (7-8 hair strands/day) and thinning of hair which would turn worse in the warm weather.
The patient’s complaints were moderate in intensity and were progressing gradually. There was no complaint of itching on the scalp or dandruff. She previously took conventional treatment for these complaints and had a history of using steroidal ointments. There was no positive family history of Alopecia areata, however, her brother had a complaint of psoriasis (an autoimmune condition)
Physical Generals
The child’s appetite was average. She had no specific craving for any food but had an aversion to spinach and cabbage. Thermally, she was sensitive to the hot weather. Her bowel movements were normal, and she had no complaints related to urination. Her sleep was sound and refreshing.
Psychological Generals
She used to get irritated and angry very easily and would beat her elder brother when angry. She used to scream when her wishes or demands were unfulfilled.
At Life Force
Based on her symptoms, Dr. Shah studied her case thoroughly and prescribed medicines.
Follow-Ups
