A 7-year-old child, Mast. V.S. (PIN: 38667) visited the Life Force clinic on 26th November 2018 along with his mother for getting his complaint of recurrent upper respiratory tract infection treated. He was suffering from it for the last 3 years. The child was experiencing recurrent episodes of dry cough with watering from the eyes, fatigue, unbearable pain in the ears, and pain in the abdomen due to constant coughing. One episode used to last for around 5-6 days with medicines.
Physical Generals
The patient was a vegetarian. He had a craving for sweets and an aversion to spicy food. He perspired profusely and was thermally hot.
His mother was a homemaker, and his father was a businessman working in the industry of spices.
Family History
The patient’s father was suffering from a similar condition of frequent colds, and his mother had psoriasis. The patient’s maternal grandmother had diabetes.
Dr. Shah studied his case in detail and prescribed some research-based medicines to the patient.
Follow-Ups
On the first follow-up on 9th January 2019, his relief in all the complaints was 25% better with the medicines. The severity of his cough had reduced greatly.
At the second follow-up on 22nd March 2019, the relief in all his complaints was further better. The pain in the ears and abdominal pain had reduced greatly. The patient still experienced some fatigue during the bouts of the cough.
On 13th June 2019, the patient's relief in the complaints was further better. The frequency of his cough episodes had started reducing.
On the follow-up on 20th January 2020, the patient reported that he had no major episodes since July 2019.
In February and March 2020, the patient did experience a mild episode of cough, but now the severity, frequency, and duration of the cough were reduced greatly.
