Remarkable Recovery of a 5-Year-Old Boy from Nephrotic Syndrome with Homeopathy
Master V. S., a 5-year-old boy (PIN: 29857), submitted an online questionnaire on 26th September 2016. He had been suffering from nephrotic syndrome, with his first episode occurring around the age of 3, the second in August 2015, and the third in August 2016. Each episode was characterized by swelling of the face, eyes, abdomen, testicles, and legs, accompanied by severe cough and cold. These episodes were managed with oral steroids. He was described as a very happy and active child, though he experienced mood swings while on steroids. He had an average appetite and was studying in nursery. Family History: Paternal grandparents: Cancer Maternal grandfather: Diabetes and arthritis Mother: Underactive thyroid Psychosocial History: After the birth of his sibling, he became slightly insecure but did not display any aggressive behavior. Treatment and Follow-Up: Dr. Shah evaluated his case in detail and prescribed research-based homeopathic medicines for nephrotic syndrome. 24th November 2016 (2 months after starting treatment): No complaints reported. 8th December 2016: Had one episode of cold two weeks prior, which resolved on its own. Previously, he would experience nephrotic relapses every June and sometimes more than once a year. After starting treatment, no relapses occurred. His stamina increased, and frequent coughs and colds reduced. February 2017: No episodes reported since treatment initiation. 4th April 2017: Mother reported ~80% improvement in nephrotic syndrome symptoms and immunity. Patient remained relapse-free and was on a low steroid dose until 24th March 2017. 7th June 2017: No relapse observed; off steroids for 2 months. 5th August 2017: No relapse; off steroids for 4 months. 5th April 2018 (latest follow-up): No relapses experienced; urine protein levels were negative. Outcome: The patient achieved a remarkable recovery from nephrotic syndrome with well-chosen homeopathic treatment and consistent follow-up. Long-term adherence to treatment, even in the absence of relapses, contributed significantly to maintaining health and preventing steroid dependency. Conclusion: This case highlights the potential of individualized homeopathic remedies to support sustained recovery in pediatric nephrotic syndrome, enhancing immunity and overall well-being while minimizing reliance on steroids.
