An 8-year-old female patient, Baby A. (PIN: 26057) visited Chembur branch of Life Force with the complaints of white spots on her left hip and right thumb on 27th June 2015.
The hypopigmented spot on her left hip was present since birth, and the hypopigmented spots on her right thumb had started appearing suddenly 1.5 years back and were spreading slowly. She was on steroid since 2014.
She had no family history of vitiligo. The patient was lean. She was following a mixed diet. She had a craving for sweets.
She was mild, shy, and emotional in nature. She had spent most of the time staying in daycare. She never shared her feelings. She had the fear of darkness and being alone.
After a detailed case analysis, Dr. Shah prescribed research-based medicine for vitiligo to the patient. She was advised to follow a diet and regimen too. She was also told to avoid sour foods.
First follow up
When the patient gave the first follow-up on 21st August 2015, her old spots were stable. No new spots had appeared.
Second follow up
On 23rd January 2016, she was better by 20%. No new spots had appeared, and her recovery from the old spots showed improvement.
Third follow up
On 1st October 2016, she was better by 70%. No new spots had appeared, and her old spots showed an improvement in term of recovery.
Fourth follow up
On 14th March 2017, she was better by 90%. Her condition was stable.
Sixth follow up
On 25th December 2017, her condition was stable and no further improvement was observed.
In March 2018, a new hypopigmented patch was seen on her left forearms.
Seventh follow up
When she gave a follow-up on 1st May 2019, she was better by 90%-95%. Only minute dots were visible.
