A 37 yrs old lady, Mrs. S. P. (Patient Ref. No. L-8070) presented with complains of persistent colds and sneezing at Life force Center. She had developed frequent colds since 6 years. There was watery thin discharge throughout the day. Occasionally she would get cough, with thick sputum.
Her sneezing was worst in the morning after waking up, heat, perfumes, dust, smoke and stress. She would sometimes get watering of the eyes, with the colds.
On clinical examination, polyps were found in both her nostrils.
She had complains of headache since childhood. There was pain in the temporal region, which would be once in a week and would last for 20 minutes. Her headache was better by pressure and would trigger by the constant sneezing. She had to take painkillers for the same.
There was history of her mother having asthma and father with hypertension. There was no other significant family history of any other diseases in the family.
Her appetite was average, with craving for spicy food and vegetables.
Her thirst was average. The sweat was less. There was intolerance for cold drafts of air and air conditioners. She was chilly. Her bowel and bladder movements were normal. Her sleep was disturbed, due to early morning sneezing at around 3-4 a.m.
Her menstrual cycle was normal. She would get her menses every 28 days and they would last for 4 days. The flow was regular. She had 4 children. All were full term normal deliveries.
The lady was found to be obese.
Her husband was a joint commissioner in income tax department. She had 3 daughters: 21 years, 19 years and 9 years old. She had one son, 9 years old.
She was often short tempered, would shout at her children, get anxious about their health. If daughter would get late on her way back home, she would be stressed about it.
She was anxious about her own health as well and would never be better.
If she would have to handle many things at the same time at home, would often land up in confusion.
Based on this history, she was prescribed constitutional homeopathic medicines.
In about 6 to 8 weeks, her colds were better by 20%. Headaches were much less in this period. With further treatment, the sneezing had reduced considerably. It was better by 50%. The watery thin discharge from the nose had stopped. There was no watering of eyes. The frequency of her headaches was less. They would now last only for 2 to 5 minutes and she was able to manage without painkillers.
She observed that she had become more calm, her anxiety had reduced with the medicines.
