A 24-year-old patient (Patient ID: 44934) consulted at the Life Force on March 7th, 2021, with lichen planus. She had been suffering from lichen planus for 1 year. On examination, we found that she had sudden, intense, extensive spots overall on the body, like on the hands, legs, chest, breast, back, and abdomen, with itching. She was on methylprednisolone steroids for a month and stopped a month ago.
During the initial consultation, a comprehensive case history was taken, focusing on physical and mental state.
Physical Makeup
The patient had a mixed diet; her appetite was average. Her thirst and perspiration were average; her bowels and sleep were satisfactory.
Her menstrual cycle was very regular.
Family history and background:
She is studying in college, doing her B.Com. Final year. Her father was a scientist, and her mother was a schoolteacher.Her father was suffering from diabetes and hypertension, and her mother had osteoarthritis.
Mental State
She had a happy childhood, but her adulthood was stressful due to exams and studies. She is very quiet. She has a good memory and is good at studies. Her mother was suffering from diabetes, but others were all keeping well in the family.
After studying her detailed case history, she was prescribed Sulphur Iod.
Follow-Ups
On April 24, 2021, on the first follow-up, she was 10% better. Medicines were continued to see further changes.
On June 8th,.2021, the itching had almost stopped, and the lichen had flattened, leaving only marks. 30% better in the abdomen and 40% better in the neck.
On August 26, 2021, the patient was 30% better, with no itching and no spread.
On November 20, 2021, the patient was better, with an 80% reduction in itching.
On Feb 28, 2022, Healing better, lesions were still present on the thigh with itching sometimes, majority of patches are healing.
On April 13, 2022, hyper-pigmentation and marks were seen; lesions have healed up. Itching is much better.
On May 25th, 2022, lesions are better by 75%.
On Sep 29, 2022, lesions are better, with no spread.
On 2nd April 2023, lesions are better by 80%. The itching stopped completely.
