47-years-old female patient, Ms. N (Patient Ref. No.-28390) approached the clinic on 2nd April 2016 with the complaint of trigeminal neuralgia (right sided) that she suffered since 5 years. She used to suffer from severe pain that was quite frequent. Her pain used to increase while talking & eating specially during the summer.The patient used to get relief by rubbing the right side of the face. Besides trigeminal neuralgia, she was also suffering from underactive thyroid.
She had an excessive appetite. She was very fond of spicy food & meat. She disliked sweet and sour food & milk. Her thirst was more than usual. She was not comfortable in the cold weather. She had profuse perspiration, particularly on the forehead. Her motion & urine were normal. She used to feel drowsy & sleepy due to medicine. Her menopause had started since a few years.
She had suffered from typhoid in the past. There was no other illness in her family.
She was short-tempered and depressed by nature. She had low confidence. Even small issue used to affect her. She became angry and tense due to small matters.
After going through her detailed case history, she was prescribed sulphur 2 doses & researched based molecule for her complaint.
During her first follow-up in the month of May, she didn’t report any marked improvement. Dr. Shah made required changes in her medicine.
Patient reported for the next follow-up in the month of June. Patient experienced improvement in the relief from intense pain. Her thyroid complaint was under control.
In the month of October, she came for the next follow-up. Her condition had improved by 70%. Doses of her allopathic medicine were also reduced.
Later, when she gave her next feedback on 11th March 2017, her condition had improved by 95%. Patient was very happy.

Conclusion:
This case highlights that homeopathic medicines can provide significant relief from Trigeminal Neuralgia and help in controlling the pain, even in those cases which are not responding favorably to the conventional medicines.
