A 48-year-old lady from Madhya Pradesh, Mrs. M.J. (PIN: 32779) visited Life Force on 13th July 2017 for the treatment of her Migraine and Lichen planus Pigmentosa. She was suffering from a Migraine since the past 1.5 years. Every month, she would suffer from an episode of a headache, and her each episode would last for 1 to 2 hours. She would experience severe throbbing pain with the sensation of the head being compressed along with nausea, vomiting, and mild dizziness. During the episode, she preferred to be in darkness and would get more sensitive to the light and noise. Besides her migraine, she had also developed Lichen planus Pigmentosa i.e. patchy hyper-pigmentation from the past 2.5 years for which she had used steroids.
As far as her physical generals were concerned, her appetite was average. She preferred spicy food and had a strong aversion to the sweets. She would perspire profusely and had a burning sensation in her palms and soles. Her bowel and bladder habits were normal. Her menses were irregular, and she would get menses in every 2 to 2.5 months. She was approaching menopause. Her sleep was sound. She used to see recurrent dreams of falling from a height and would wake up frightened when asleep.
She was a homemaker, and her husband was a grain broker. She has 2 sons. Mrs. M.J. was short-tempered and would blow off anger on her husband and sons. She was very particular about cleanliness and was sensitive to the sufferings of people. She would not tolerate injustice. And, if something wrong is happening to someone, she would react.
In her past, she had suffered from Psoriasis, which was completely better by Homeopathic treatment. Before 1 year, she had a medical history of being affected with Malaria. In her family, her sister was suffering from Hypertension, and her mother suffered from Paraplegia.
Based on her case details, Dr. Shah prescribed Causticum-30 for two months to the patient.
First followup
After 8 weeks of the treatment on September 2017, she visited Life Force and, in the first follow-up itself, she showed signs of improvement. The patient informed that she didn’t experience a single episode of a migraine headache in the past 2 months.
Second followup
In January 2018, she informed that she had one mild episode of a Migraine, but there was no need to take the painkiller.
Third followup
In the subsequent follow-ups, the patient’s health continued to improve gradually. When she visited us on 7th June 2018, she informed that she didn't suffer from a Migraine attack in the past 6 months. The last headache episode she had suffered was in December 2017. She was in a long-term remission period.
Along with a Migraine, her recovery from Lichen planus Pigmentosa was also improving. Her recovery from patchy hyper-pigmented patches was better by 25%-30%. She is continuing with the treatment for her Lichen Planus Pigmentosa.
Conclusion:
This case illustrates that a migraine headache finds proven and effective treatment and relief with homeopathy. Conventionally, a migraine is treated by painkillers which help temporarily. Homeopathic treatment corrects the psychosomatic pathways and genetic disposition, in turn treating migraine at the root level safely without any side-effects.
