On February 9, 2021, his uncle brought a 10-year-old high school student with Patient ID 44754 to the Chembur clinic. The child was referred by an existing Life Force patient and visited the clinic full of hope and trust. He was diagnosed with Vitiligo after experiencing hypopigmentation around both eyes, nose, scalp, hands, legs, abdomen, and back. He received conventional treatment, primarily steroidal applications like ointment Tacrolimus, for about two months, but no improvement was observed, so someone at his uncle's house informed him about Life Force Homeopathy's results in cases of Vitiligo, so they decided to see Dr. Shah personally.
Vitiligo is an autoimmune chronic disease in which the skin loses its color due to damage to the melanin-producing melanocytes present in the skin due to an autoimmune reaction in the body.
He was very shy and reserved by nature; the hypopigmentation on the face and eyes was affecting him and his childhood. He was deprived of his priceless childhood experiences and began to grow more reserved, introverted, and quiet as a result of his skin condition. Vitiligo made him extremely awkward to enjoy himself with his friends and other children. He was also worried about what they would think of him and whether they would play with him or let him participate.
Physical Generals
A thorough case history was obtained; he was a quiet, well-behaved child. His father worked as an electrician, while his mother was a homemaker. He had two older sisters. He had no family history of any illnesses, and his favorite foods were chocolate and non-vegetarian. He also drank an average amount of water and sweated a lot while playing outside.
To distinguish vitiligo from other hypopigmentation conditions, the hypopigmented patches were examined using wood lamps. Photos of the disease were taken for future comparison and to monitor the progress with homeopathy. Following a thorough analysis of the case, Dr. Shah recommended Calcarea Phos 30 and made dietary and lifestyle recommendations, such as applying sunscreen while going outside in the afternoon and exposure to early morning sun for 15 minutes. Additionally, the patient and his uncle received detailed explanations of the scope of homeopathy in vitiligo, and proper counseling was done for acceptance of the disease.
Follow Up
The disease was stable for the first few follow-ups, showing no signs of spread or repigmentation.
On June 19, 2021, repigmentation was observed on the eyes and neck, while all other locations remained stable.
On October 26, 2022, new places were impacted. Repigmentation was observed in the hands, legs, and eyes, and the regions that had previously been affected by Vitiligo showed notable changes.
Significant repigmentation was observed in all areas during the March 2023 follow-up, but the back and eye patches in particular showed clear improvement.
The spots remained stable for one to two months during the follow-up, which was completed on November 16, 2023, with no new areas affected or repigmentation. By this point, only dull patches remained on the eyes, back, and abdomen, where the pigmentation had nearly fully returned.
The spots on the back and eyes were fully repigmented in the June 2024 follow-up, while all of the spots on the knees, ankles, and scalp were exhibiting repigmentation, and no new areas were impacted.
All of the body's spots have healed as of the follow-up on January 17, 2025, except a few areas on the knees and foot that are still hypopigmented. The patient is still receiving treatment to achieve full repigmentation and avoid a disease relapse.
Conclusion
This case of Vitiligo is a great example of how homeopathy can completely repigment hypopigmented areas without the need for steroidal medication or external application. Homeopathy has restored the innocent child's skin color, saving his childhood.
