From Stiffness to Strength: Osteoarthritis Improvement via Homeopathy
Patient Details: Name: Mr. A.K. Patient ID: 56166 Age: 47 years Occupation: BE graduate, working at MMRDA for 20–22 years Family & Lifestyle: Lives with spouse and two school-going sons; maintains cordial relations with family and colleagues. Presenting Complaint: Mild pain in both knees, more pronounced in the left knee, especially when climbing stairs. No conventional medications were being taken for osteoarthritis. Investigations: MRI Right Knee (29/03/25): Degenerative changes in tibiofemoral and patellofemoral joints; grade I chondromalacia patellae; patchy marrow edema in the medial femoral condyle and intercondylar region; cystic areas in the tibial metadiaphyseal region; grade II signal changes in posterior horn of medial meniscus. MRI Left Knee (29/03/25): Early degenerative changes; grade IV chondromalacia patellae; patchy marrow edema in medial tibial condyle; grade I signal in posterior horn of medial meniscus; mild joint effusion. Homeopathic Treatment & Follow-ups: First Follow-up (31/12/24): Pain, stiffness, and severity reduced by ~40%; mild pain on climbing stairs. Prescribed continuation of medicines for 2 months. Second Follow-up (19/02/25): Overall improvement; pain and stiffness reduced. Continued treatment for 2 more months. Third Follow-up (03/04/25): Pain considerably better; only mild ache while climbing stairs, subsiding quickly at rest. Continued medicines for 2 months. Fourth Follow-up (14/05/25): Pain improved by ~80%; mild 2–3 second pain while climbing stairs. Continued medicines for 2 months. Final Follow-up (16/08/25): Overall improvement sustained at ~80%; mild pain only when climbing stairs, subsiding spontaneously. Outcome: The patient showed significant improvement in knee osteoarthritis with homeopathic treatment. Pain, stiffness, and functional limitations were substantially reduced without the need for conventional medications or surgical intervention. Conclusion: This case demonstrates that osteoarthritis, even with degenerative changes and chondromalacia, can be effectively managed with individualized homeopathic treatment, leading to improved mobility and quality of life.
