She said that she would barely be able to sleep for ½ or 1 hour at a stretch. She would wake up intermittently and her sleep would be disturbed at the slightest sound. She would get continuous flow of thoughts in her mind, not allowing her to sleep well. She would wake up feeling very unrefreshed in the morning. She mentioned that she never felt rested. She had received sedatives for her complaints but they had not helped her much. She believed that her complaints had started after the death of her father about 4 years ago.

She was a known case of Hypertension since 4 years and also had Hypothyroidism since 2 years; she was under regular treatment for these. She would also develop headaches about 2-3 times in a year and these would resolve after taking painkiller medication.

She was a stout, vegetarian lady with an average appetite. She was very fond of sweets and would also like spicy foods. Her water intake was poor. She would sweat profusely and would prefer to remain in a cooler environment. She had no complaints pertaining to her stools or urine and her periods were regular and without any complaints.

She was a housewife and she stayed with her husband and her children (3 daughters and 1 son). She said that she had become very short tempered since some time and would easily retaliate. She was a very loquacious lady and her husband was a quiet man who wouldn’t talk much; this would disturb her and make her angry. She would weep extremely easily, at trifles, and she added that every day she would weep at least 3-4 times. She would get anxious by thinking about forthcoming things (in anticipation).

There was no history of any significant illness in her past. Her father used to suffer from insomnia, hypertension and ischemic heart disease. Her mother was a diabetic.

Based on the above history she was prescribed a remedy that has been prepared at Lifeforce for the treatment of Insomnia. She took the medicines for about 2 weeks and at the end of it she reported that she was feeling much better. She was able to sleep for about 3-4 hours at a stretch and an additional ½ to 1 hour in the afternoon.

She was keeping good health in general with no other complaints. Her treatment was continued on similar lines and she was back to sleeping normally in about 2 months’ time.
