A few days ago, she complained of abdominal pain, and a USG of her abdomen revealed that she had renal calculus and cholelithiasis (a gallbladder stone).
She had intermittent mild abdominal pain and no other significant symptoms related to renal calculus, but she had experienced two to three episodes of fever and abdominal pain from gallstones a few days before she visited the clinic. She began treatment for both complaints to prevent recurrences and to alleviate symptoms.
She also had a complaint of epilepsy for which she was on conventional treatment.
Physical Generals
She had a mixed diet with more preference for nonveg food and a desire for spicy and tasty food with a complete aversion to milk and sweets. But lately, she has become quiet and introverted, with few friends, and irritable by nature due to the stress of work. Gallbladder - hugely distended
There is evidence of a hyperechoic focus on the neck measuring 13mm s/o calculus. Also, a sludge ball is noted at a fundal aspect of the gall bladder.
Kidney
There is no evidence of Renal calculus, or hydronephrosis in both the kidneys.
The gallbladder stone had shrunk from 16 to 13 mm, and the USG revealed no renal calculus. Her symptoms were getting better.
During the followup on December 27, 2024, she reported that she had no other pains, simply a slight stomach ache when eating mealsoutdoors.To avoid the recurrence of renal calculus and to alleviate the symptoms of her gastrointestinal problems, she is continuing treatment for both of them.
Conclusion
This is where homeopathy could help avoid surgery in cases of renal and gall bladder stones, but in some cases where the size of the calculus is bigger or having severe symptoms, surgery is recommended.
