Successful Recovery of a 5-Year-Old Child with Nephrotic Syndrome at Life Force Homeopathy
Nephrotic Syndrome is a kidney condition characterized by a group of symptoms that indicate improper kidney function. These include excessive protein loss in urine (proteinuria), low blood albumin levels (hypoalbuminemia), swelling (edema), and high cholesterol levels (hyperlipidemia). The condition occurs due to damage to the glomeruli, the tiny filtering units in the kidneys. When these are affected, proteins leak into the urine, leading to symptoms such as swelling around the eyes, feet, and ankles, foamy urine, weight gain, and an increased risk of infections. Several underlying conditions, including kidney disorders, glomerular diseases, diabetes, and lupus, can lead to Nephrotic Syndrome. Homeopathy aims to treat the underlying cause by considering the individual’s overall constitution. It helps in healing the damaged kidney tissues, reducing the frequency and severity of relapses and lowering steroid dependency. Here is a case of a young child with Nephrotic Syndrome who showed remarkable improvement with homeopathic treatment at Life Force. CASE STUDY Initial Presentation A 5-year-old girl (PIN: 42905) visited Life Force Homeopathy, Kemp’s Corner, on 19th March 2020 with her parents. She was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome when she was just one year old. Her symptoms began soon after her first year, for which she was started on conventional treatment. She was prescribed Wysolone 20 mg/day, which was gradually tapered to 5 mg on alternate days as her symptoms improved. However, she continued to experience relapse episodes, especially during winter, cold weather, fever, and whenever the steroid dose was reduced, or she consumed paracetamol. A detailed case history was recorded at Life Force, including her physical, emotional, and behavioral patterns. Physical & Psychological Generals Appetite: Average Food preferences: Liked spicy and fried foods (e.g., pakodas) Water intake: 1.5–2 liters/day Sleep: Sound and refreshing Stools: Normal and satisfactory Urination: No major symptoms, except increased frequency at night Perspiration: Normal Thermal state: Tolerant to cold Childhood background: Happy childhood and a very supportive family Psychological traits: She was talkative, easily angered, dominant, capricious, and became irritated quickly, yet overall, she remained a cheerful child. Medical & Family History She had no history of hospital admissions or surgeries. Family history was reviewed to rule out autoimmune or hereditary factors. She had been on steroids for almost five consecutive years, and relapse occurred every time steroids were tapered. At Life Force After evaluating the case in detail, Dr. Shah prescribed his research-based homeopathic medicines tailored to the child’s constitution. A diet chart and educational links were also shared with the family. Follow-Up Summary 28th July 2020 Urine protein: 3+ Swelling on the face Continued steroid dependency 16th October 2020 Urine protein: 4+ On Wysolone 5 mg alternate days 13th December 2020 Urine protein: 2+ On Wysolone 30 mg alternate days No visible swelling 8th March 2021 Relapses continued but episodes reduced Steroid dose could not be lowered without relapse 18th May 2021 30–40% improvement Reduced relapse frequency Steroid dosage reduced 24th August 2021 Stable condition Very scanty, frothy urine Increased nighttime urination 16th November 2021 Urine protein: Nil No relapse since September 2021 Steroids reduced (Wysolone 30 mg alternate days) 8th March 2022 Urine protein: Nil Steroid dose tapered to 12.5 mg alternate days Continued to remain relapse-free 27th April 2022 Urine protein: Nil Steroids tapered to 7.5 mg alternate days 2nd September 2022 No relapse since September 2021 Continued tapering of steroids 10th November 2022 Completely off Wysolone for a month No relapse, no protein leakage Urine reports normal Outcome The child showed significant and sustained improvement with homeopathy. She could stop steroids, remained relapse-free, and continued to show normal urine reports. Her parents expressed immense gratitude to Dr. Shah and the Life Force team for the effective treatment and care their daughter received. Conclusion This case highlights the effectiveness of homeopathy in managing Nephrotic Syndrome in children. Homeopathy helps: Control the progression of the disease Heal kidney tissue gently and safely Reduce relapse frequency Minimize and eventually eliminate steroid dependency Improve overall immunity and well-being Homeopathy, when taken under expert supervision, proves to be a safe, holistic, and effective treatment option for children with Nephrotic Syndrome.

Nephrotic syndrome is a disease condition with a group of symptoms that indicate your kidney isn’t functioning properly. Excess loss of protein (proteinuria), low levels of albumin (hypoalbuminemia), swelling (edema), and high levels of cholesterol (Hyperlipidemia) all indicate nephrotic syndrome. It results due to the damaged glomerulus in the kidney that helps in filtering the excess water that may lead to the leakage of proteins, thereby causing symptoms such as swelling on dependent parts, particularly in your feet and ankles, and an increased risk of infections, foamy urine, and weight gain. It results due to the damaged tiny blood vessels of the glomerulus of the kidneys.
Various diseases and conditions can cause nephrotic syndrome, mainly kidney disorder, glomerular conditions, and other diseases such as Diabetes, and lupus.
Homeopathy works by treating the underlying cause responsible for the disease, by considering the constitution of the person that helps in the healing of damaged tissue of the kidneys, thereby reducing the frequency, severity, and steroidal dependency in the case. Here’s a case of the nephrotic syndrome affecting a child and treated with homeopathy at Life Force successfully.
CASE STUDY
A 5-year-old baby (PIN: 42905) visited Life Force Homeopathy’s Kemp’s corner branch with her parents on 19th March 2020. She was diagnosed with Nephrotic syndrome merely one year after her birth.
The patient’s complaints started after one year after her birth, and allopathic treatment was started. She was started with steroidal medicines Wysolone 20 mg per day and it was tapered and reduced as her complaints started getting better and she was on Wyoslone 5mg alternative days. The patient used to experience remission of the symptoms majorly in the winters, cold weather, fever, and with the intake of paracetamol or tapering the doses of steroids.
A detailed case was taken and all the history was taken. Her mental and physical generals updated.
Physical and Psychological Generals:
Her appetite was average and she liked spicy, fried food such as pakodas. She was drinking about 1.5 - 2 liters of water a day. She enjoyed a sound sleep, and her stools were normal and satisfactory. She had no urinary or urination symptoms, but the urination frequency increased at night. Her perspiration was normal, and she was tolerant of the cold climate. The patient had a happy childhood and a supportive family.
She was talkative, used to get angry easily, dominant, capricious, and would get irritated easily. She was a happy child. Her physical and mental generals were taken.
Self and Family’s Medical History:
Her medical history was asked about in detail. The patient had no history of hospital administration or any surgery. Also, her family’s medical history was asked to rule out the genetic inheritance or any autoimmune disease condition running in the family. Also, her current and past prescription details were updated. She was on steroidal treatment for the last 5 years, and, on tapering them, she was getting the relapse.
At Life Force:
Dr. Shah went through the whole case history of the patient in detail and prescribed his research-based medicine to the patient.
Also, the patient was given a diet chart, links, and videos related to her disease condition.
First follow-Up:
The patient had her first follow-up on 28th July 2020. Her protein leakage was 3+. She had swelling of the face, and she was dependent on steroids.
Second followup
On the follow-up on 16th October 2020, the patient’s urine albumin was 4+, and she was on the steroid Wysolone 5 mg alternate days.
Third followup
On the follow-up on 13th December 2020, the patient’s urine albumin level was 2+, and she was on Wysolone 30 mg every alternate day. No swelling or edema on her face or legs was seen.
Fourth followup
On the follow-up on 8th March 2021, the patient was still experiencing relapses but the frequency of the episodes had reduced. She was still given the same dose of steroids, as whenever they tried to reduce the dose of steroids, the relapse occurred.
Fifth followup
On the follow-up on 18th May 2021, the patient was 30% to 40% better. The frequency of episodes of the nephrotic syndrome had reduced, and the dose of steroids had also reduced.
Sixth followup
Later, on the follow-up on 24th August 2021, the patient was better and stable. She had very scanty and frothy urine. The patient experienced an increased frequency of urination, particularly at night.
Seventh followup
On the follow-up on 16th November 2021, the patient was better. The urine protein was Nil. The patient had no relapse after September 2021 and had reduced steroidal dependency by having Wysolone 30mg alternate days for a month, thereby tapering it.
Eighth followup
On the follow-up on 8th March 2022, the patient was further better. Her urine protein was nil. The patient had no relapse after September 2021, and her steroidal dependency was reduced. She was on a tapering dose of Wysolone 12.5 mg on alternate days.
Ninth followup
On the follow-up on 27th April 2022, the patient was feeling further better. Urine protein continued to be Nil. No relapse after September 2021 bothered the patient. Also, the steroidal dependency was reduced to Wysolone 7.5 mg on alternate days.
Tenth followup
On the follow-up on 2nd September 2022, the patient was feeling better. No episodes had occurred since September 2021. Her steroidal dose was tapered gradually and she was on Wysolone 7.5mg on alternate days.
Eleventh followup
On 10th November 2022, the patient was further better. She had no relapses since September 2021. Wysolone was stopped for a month. No episodes of protein leakage and no other symptoms bothered her. Her urine reports were normal.
The patient is very happy with the treatment that she received at Life Force. Her parents were thankful to Dr. Shah and his entire team of doctors for the treatment and service that their daughter received at Life Force Homeopathy. She is continuing the homeopathic treatment.
Conclusion:
This case indicates the efficiency of the homeopathic treatment for Nephrotic syndrome in children. Homeopathy treats and controls the disease progression, gently and safely without any adverse effects. Also, homeopathy reduces and eliminated the patient’s dependency on conventional medicines.
